Fashion

Look Mom, I’m Doing It!

I have been talking about starting a fashion blog for decades.  Literal decades.  And I have absolutely no good reason why I haven’t done it except for the fact that i’m a huge self-doubter.  And thats actually kind of a terrible reason.  So I have decided that I am going to cast all of that silliness aside and just freaking do it.  So here we are. It’s 2021. I have my laptop, a cup of coffee, and a million thoughts about fashion.  My name is Meredith and I would like to welcome you to The Organza Bonanza!

To say that I love fashion would be an understatement.  Its just all so magnificent.  The fabrics! The colors! The patterns! I love the notion that someone can take a simple piece of material and create something that can change the way a person feels.  You know that moment when your eyes lock on that one piece of clothing that just takes your breath away?  You start imaging all the amazing places you would wear it, the conversations you would have (you would be so charming), and OH the compliments! This is what makes my heart sing.  I could spend hours in my closet just making outfits, whether I have a place to go or not.

My love of fashion started early in life. I’ve always viewed fashion as the ultimate game of dress up, which I did all the time as a child.  I was always in my mother’s closet, rummaging around.  She had the coolest stuff and I just couldn’t wait until I was big enough to fit into all of it.  I played dress up in my grandfather’s closet too just so I could wear his cowboy boots, trench coats, and fedoras around the house.  Rumor has it that I even wore a toilet paper cover (cause that was a thing in the 80’s I guess) on my head as a hat.  But that is neither here nor there.  I just think that fashion can be whatever you make it, no matter who you are and what you like to wear.  That’s what makes it so much fun.

So I hope you will follow along and talk fashion with me!  Otherwise I’ll just be over here with my coffee, and my laptop, and maybe my toilet paper hat, talking fashion with myself.  And aside from the toilet paper thing, that would just be weird, right?

It totally looks like a hat, right? 2 year old me was so avant-garde!
