Three Days of Food, Fashion, and Fun in Saint Augustine, Florida

If you haven’t been to Saint Augustine, Florida let me be the first to tell you that you are missing out big time. A Spanish settled city (you remember old Ponce De Leon from history class) hailed as the oldest city in the United States, Saint Augustine is the perfect mix of old world charm, and modern amenities. Situated right on the coast of north Florida it is home to both beautiful and cozy beaches and a bustling historic downtown complete with a 17th century fort (yes you can totally go inside), the famed fountain of youth (try a sip), and shopping and restaurants to suit any mood.

When we were looking for a place to spend my birthday Saint Augustine ticked all the boxes. It’s also literally a hop, skip and a jump from Savannah so it was all the more appealing since I wanted to travel with my BFFF (best furry friend forever) Lucy. We found a pet friendly airbnb in the Vilano Beach area that was right on the beach, complete with full oceanfront views and a private boardwalk to the water.

I tend to overpack so I did my best to keep my outfit choices limited to a few dresses and coordinating accessories. I Still somehow filled up a large suitcase for our short three night trip.

Black Dress – The Frankie Shop (this one is sold out now but Here is a similar one)

Bucket Hat – Jacquemus (Here)

Blue Dress – Michael Kors (this dress is last season, but Here is a similar one). You should brouse the dress selection because there are soooooo many cute ones right now. This one is on my wishlist now! I can just picture it with lime green accessories!

Sneakers – Chuck Taylor (Here)

Beige Dress – Ulla Johnson (Here)

Pink Mules – Bottega Veneta (Here)

Blue Sunnies – Tory Burch (Here)

Pink Chiquito Bag – Jacquemus (Here)

Jewelry – Jacquemus – Necklace (Here) , Earrings (Here)

There are so many great places to eat in this city so even though our airbnb had a full kitchen, we ended up eating out every night. After all, we do consider ourselves purveyors of fine food. We were hungry once we got settled in so we immediately went out for pizza and rose’! We found Vilano Grill and Pizza and it was just what we needed!

The second day was a beach day, complete with dog in lap. Anyone else ever spend a day on the beach holding a pup? We have separation issues and we totally know it.

I’m totally ok with this because it was actually freezing that day

Afterward we headed into downtown Saint Augustine to eat at The Floridian. They have what they call innovative southern fare with both meat eater and vegan options!

On our last night, which coincidentally was my actual birthday, we went to a really cool place called Ice Plant. They make everything in house, and ice is their specialty! Sounds crazy but they have an ice menu that accompanies their cocktails. The old building was an actual ice plant back in the 1920’s and they produced huge blocks of ice. The decor and menu pays homage to their history.

We headed back for a full moon stroll on the beach (It was called a pink moon, my favorite)

The next morning we enjoyed one last cup of coffee on the back deck of the house. It’s always sad to reach the end of a good trip, but this place is so close that I forsee us coming back here often.

If you have visited Saint Augustine let me know what some of your favorite places are. If you visit any of these, tell me what you think!
