As the entire world sits holding it’s breath watching the war between Russia and Ukraine unfold everything in our privileged daily lives suddenly seems so trivial. Here I sit in my comfortable home drinking my coffee with my computer in my lap trying to write about fashion and its hard not to think that I am being so selfish living out my normal daily life while I know that there are so many people who are unable to do that right now. How is fashion even relevant when there is so much else going on in the world?
I want to share a company with you that I made a purchase from a few months ago. Sleeper is a Kiev based clothing brand that makes the most beautiful eco-friendly luxury loungewear that is so stylish you will want to wear it out of the house too. The company was launched in 2014 and has since become a cult fashion favorite for those who want a little pizazz in their nighttime wardrobe.
These pieces are all handcrafted, with sustainable materials and zero waste. The quality is impeccable and you can see the love that is put into every stitch. They pride themselves on providing safe jobs with competitive wages that support their employees. These garments are priced as such, but will last you a lifetime with proper care. Because each piece is hand made to order you need to be prepared to wait on one of their crafters to make your garment. Due to the current conditions in Kiev, I am not sure if the wait time could be impacted. But all good things take time.
I chose to purchase the Party Pajamas which boast the cutest detachable feather trim on the pants. I bought them in a size small, but I think I could have sized up to a medium just to have a bit more room in the pants. For reference I typically wear a 27-28 in pants. They have these sets in a variety of colors. They are definitely versatile enough to wear to an event if you just throw on a pair of heels and a cute bag. These are definitely just not for sleeping!
