When Forty Attacks: How I Celebrated The-Big-40

Whew, last week was a super busy one! I had a few days off of work to celebrate/grieve the passing of my 40th birthday. Sam and I planned to go grab a quick dinner downtown before meeting with our friends later in the evening. Then off to Saint Augustine, Fl for a short stay on the beach the following day. This would be our first trip away in over a year. So exciting!

We had reservations at a restaurant in midtown Savannah called Common Thread. It is in an old historic house in a more residential area that had a full renovation to make it into the restaurant. When we arrived I thought it was just going to be dinner for two, but to my astonishment, our friends were all there waiting on us. Surprise! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner together and then made our way back to our friends house where decorations, cake, and wine was waiting. We had so much fun and so many surprises; 40 is going to be a great year! Check out some snaps of the night to see what I wore, and where we ate:

The food was incredible. Everyone tried something different and no one was disappointed. I highly recommend this place if you ever find yourself in Savannah, Ga.

And few pics from the after dinner celebration! That cake was incredible!

Now, on to Saint Augustine for a little relaxation by the beach.
