A couple of weeks ago my mom asked me to help her find a new black bag for the season. As I went down the rabbit hole of my favorite retailers I found that this season has so many wonderful styles of bags that deserve some attention. After all, a bag can make or break an outfit. Here are my top 5 favorite bag trends that will elevate your fall wardrobe!
The Hobo
The Hobo bag is an excellent choice for your everyday bag. The crescent shaped bag is traditionally made of a soft flexible material and is made to wear thrown over the shoulder. Choose one in a classic black or tan to match everything or go with a bold color like this pink one from J.W. Anderson if you are more adventurous!
The Shearling Bag
I am a sucker for anything fluffy so the shearing trend is probably my favorite one for fall. I have seen this material on so many accessories like bags, shoes, and hats. Nothing says bring on the chilly weather more than a fluffy accessory. I love a colorful bag and a shearling bag is no exception. This Jacquemus bag is a dream and I am loving the bold color on this bag by UGG!
The Glam Bag
Sparkle is back and I am here for it! The holidays are fast approaching and that means that you need to start getting yourself and your wardrobe into party mode now. I am loving the amount of sequined, feathered, and beaded pieces available right now. From the clear knotted evening bags at Cult Gaia to the heart shaped pillow bags at Alexander Wang, I am obsessed with them all.
The Tote Bag
If you have a lot of stuff to carry, the tote bag may be the choice for you. A tote bag is traditionally a large two handle open top bag. It is easy to reach in and has plenty of room to store all of your daily essentials. A large enough bag can double as a handbag and a shopping bag. Marc Jacobs makes a great tote bag, complete with the cutest oh-so-obvious label printed right across the front of the bag.
The Throwback/Re-Edition
They say everything old becomes new again and I have proof! Several iconic bags from the early 2000s are being re-introduced and the fashion world is losing their minds over them. We are seeing the Prada Nylon, the Fendi Baguette, and the Balenciaga Cagole have a new resurgence of popularity. Maybe you were lucky enough to score one of these bags when they were originally released. If not, now is your chance for a do-over. If you have fear of missing out on these iconic bags you should act fast. I have a feeling that they will sell out quickly and then you will have to wait 20 years for another shot.
I can’t wait to hear which bags you love the most! For the record, I think mom is leaning toward the Anine Bing mini Jody bag. I love that one too so we may have to have matching ones. Share your comments below!
