I think I’ve accepted the fact that targeted advertising is actually useful to me. Our phones use so many ways to push content to us but honestly I’m starting to think that maybe my phone knows me better than I know myself. More often than not, the things that find their way into my social feed are things that I’m actually interested in. I found this little gem of a company called Self-Care Shower through Instagram and I am absolutely in love!
Self-Care Shower sells aromatherapy based products for the bathroom and home. My favorite product they carry is the eucalyptus bundle that you hang in your shower. The steam activates the natural compounds in the eucalyptus, filling your shower with relaxing and stress relieving scents that make you feel like you just spent the afternoon at the spa. The best part is they ship the bundles right to your door with easy to follow instructions on how to hang your bundle. They harvest and ship your bundle in the same day so it arrives perfectly fresh and ready to use.
They have several different sizes of bundles to choose from. I ordered the large eucalyptus bundle. It is honestly large enough that you could split it in half and use it in two bathrooms or put some stems in a vase in another room of the house. We mainly use one shower in our house unless we have company so I put the entire bundle in one bathroom and it fills the entire room with glorious eucalyptus scent.
The bundle comes with some instructions that help you to get the most out of your shower experience. Step one is to remove your bundle and to trim off any bad ends or dry pieces. They got my bundle to me so quickly that there weren’t really any parts to trim.
The next step is to lay your bundle on a towel and to roll a bottle over the leaves to help release the oils. The surface of whatever you use will get sticky so be cautious and definitely lay down that towel! I used a vase that I already had in the bathroom but they suggest using a wine bottle. It sounds like a great excuse to open a bottle a day or two before your bundle arrives.
Now that you have your bundle rolled it is time to hang it in your shower! It comes affixed with a rubber band but you could also use kitchen twine or something more stylish to hang it. I placed mine directly over the shower head so that the leaves fall to either side. You don’t want your bundle so sit directly in the water. The objective is for it to catch the steam so that it fills your shower with the most amazing and relaxing scent!
